ADRC Volunteer Spotlight: Bob Hanke

by | Nov 29, 2023 | Blog, Volunteer

Who’s that guy in the suspenders with the big smile always looking to lend a helping hand? Why it’s Bob Hanke of course! One of our awesome volunteers here at ADRC and Grounded Café.

To say Bob is a hard worker would be an understatement. He helps in our Nutrition Department packaging the food that is delivered to our home delivered meal recipients. You may have seen him around lunchtime serving meals in our community café and helping in the kitchen for Grounded Café. Or perhaps you’ve seen him out and about in the community on our Grounded on the Go Food Truck or at one of our ADRC on the Go events. We can always count on Bob to be punctual and ready to help. He says his favorite thing about volunteering is being on the go and staying busy.

Bob’s kind heart and willingness to help doesn’t stop at ADRC and Grounded Café. He also donates his time to Laundry Love – Green Bay. If you’re not familiar with this wonderful program, it exists to meet the needs of those in our community who are low income, experiencing homelessness, unemployed, elderly or needing a hand up in a difficult time. The Laundry Love events are held at a local laundromat and provide quarters and soap to those in need.

When he’s not giving back to a special cause, Bob likes to soak up the warm weather in summer by kayaking, fishing, and camping. He enjoys putting model semi-trucks together, listening to Christian music, going to church, and enjoying all types of food.

If he could be any superhero, he said he would be Superman. We think this is very fitting considering he is already a SUPER volunteer!

Thank you, Bob, for everything you do! We appreciate you and are lucky to have you as part of the ADRC/Grounded Café family!
