Brown County Prevention Coalition: Fall Prevention

Purpose

To reduce falls among older adults in our region by collaborating with community professionals and partners to promote safety, education, healthy aging and evidence-based programs.

Priorities

  • Community awareness on the importance of fall prevention and why it is a priority
  • Professional awareness of community resources on falls prevention
  • Strengthen the Falls Coalition’s internal capacity, structure, and shared purpose to support sustainable, effective, and collaborative fall prevention efforts across the community.

You Can Help Prevent a Fall

  • On average, 33 falls a day are reported by Brown County ERs, hospitals, and local EMS (excluding Urgent Care & Clinic settings) but we can work together to prevent them!

There are steps we can take to reduce our risk of falling as we age. It starts with believing we can and finding the resources we need to make changes to keep us safe!
